Science From Scientists

We had our first visit from the scientists, Ms. Courtney and Ms. Jenna, on Thursday.  They reinforced similar concepts we do in class about working together.  The activity they presented was about stacking cups using a string and elastic contraption.  You guys did such a great job.  It reminded me of "Saving Fred" in the way that everyone has one tool and you couldn't use your hands.  You had to work together in order to complete the challenge.

Why did they do an activity about working together and following directions?

  1. I think they did an activity about working together and following directions because if anyone wants to be a scientist they have to learn to cooperate with others and listen to their ideas.

  2. I think they did an activity about working together and following directions to sort-of test our abilities on how we work together, and if we work together well. Also, they wanted to see how we did with following directions to see if we paid attention and were good listeners. I really enjoyed "From Science To Scientists", and I CAN'T wait to get to do it again. The activity we did was really fun and it was challenging! It was a great way to kick off a great new year of science!!!

  3. I think they did that because they needed to see if we could work it together.

  4. The Scientists did an activity about working together and following directions so we could get used to doing just that in other activity's we will do, I think. The first two cup formations were fun and easy. After that, it became challenging. I liked it a lot.
